Early Alpha 2013 – Trip Update Day 3
Written by Luke Whitcraft; Mate
The sun crept over the mountain of Peter Island and into Great Harbor where our four Sail Caribbean boats happened to be moored. The warmth started to wake the creatures of sea and land and thus the boats came alive with movement and laughter. The students of early Alpha prepped for breakfast as we started to head towards Norman Island, just outside of the Bight.
Just after mooring, there was the first marine bio lesson about respect and marine awareness where after the students put on their snorkel gear and broke the surface of the water to enjoy some cool sights of caves, corals, and other lively fish. We all then returned to our boats and de-moored with the destination of the Bight at Norman Island set in sight. As we came upon the mooring balls, the students became exited for the prospects of sailing Picos, paddle boarding, and wake boarding. After an exhausting day of amazing experiences, the students prepared a delicious meal of mahi mahi then prepped for bed and the adventures to come tomorrow. Cheers to all and goodnight.
