Today we woke up nice and early at 6:30 from a Rooster’s cock-a-doodle-doo. For breakfast we had a scrumptious buffet onboard a massive 52-foot yacht; the same one we will be living on for the next two weeks. After breakfast, we went to the dive shop to prepare for our upcoming days of blowing bubbles underwater! After fueling the boats, we had our prior-to-firsts, which acquainted us to these massive sailboats. A de-docking plan was then created so we could leave Hodges Creek Marina. After departing the island of Tortola with an awesome de-docking by Grayson at the helm, we set our sails for Cooper Island, with the help of our captain and mate.
After about a two hour sail, we arrived to the beautiful eco-resort and had tuna melts on our mooring ball. The open water divers then headed off for some skills on the beach, while everyone else went for a swim, did some tubing, sailed the small, 26-foot Opal Bella, or went to shore for some delicious ice cream. The crew of Monet even saw two Hawksbill Turtles during a snorkel! We then learned how to shower in the ocean; make sure you rinse your ears!
We prepped dinner, with Chris and Ethan leading the way, who made a fantastic barbecue chicken, couscous, and salad. After dinner we played some card games, listened to music, and had our first boat meeting on the water! After gazing at the beautiful stars, we headed to bed for some much needed rest.
