Today, Allegra was the captain of the day, Charlie was her navigator and Lily was the mate. The day began when most of the crew went diving; Sam, Andrew Lewis, Charlie, Davis, Nick, Kat, Sydney, Allegra and Jeremy went diving and everyone completed their open water certifications, and Lily completed the second part of her Discover Scuba Diving. Meanwhile, Andrew Lee went to Venture to sail with the crew to The Dogs. Polli and Alex sailed Xeres to The Dogs to meet everyone there. We then spent the early afternoon at The Dogs snorkeling. Some of the divers returned, while Charlie, Sam and Allegra chose to go on a second dive! Later in the afternoon, we went snorkeling and got to hang out in the bay with Venture which was a lot of fun!
Afterwards, we motor jibed to Mountain Point where we successfully anchored on the first attempt. It was a beautiful bay, where there were loads of sting rays and we saw 8 hanging out under our boat! Sam and Sydney spent a lot of time free diving to get a closer look at them. We also found a giant barracuda lurking under the hull, which is when we discovered Polli’s fear of them. After, we all got to go tubing which was loads of fun. Kat was particularly good at staying upright and not falling off. Davis, Sam, Nick and Jeremy had a great time hanging out on the rafts.
Later, we began our final dinner prep and had our last boat showers. It’s very surreal to think that this amazing trip is about to end. There was a huge rainbow at the end of the evening so it was the perfect end to a great day. We then did our crew tests to see how much we had learned this summer, and everyone passed! Lily, Sam and Allegra also took their bosun tests and all passed as well, which is such an amazing achievement. Our miracle moment of the day was seeing the rainbow at the end of the day.
