We woke up at Trellis Bay after a Full Moon Party the night before. Rescue divers Dylan, Amanda and Mia headed out on the dive boat shortly after breakfast for their final day of scenarios. As part of the scenarios, Virgin Islands Search and Rescue (VISAR) came out to help with training, which was an incredible and unique experience. Dylan, Amanda and Mia are now certified Rescue Divers! Meanwhile, Michael completed his Search and Recovery Specialty with two morning dives at ‘Diamond Reef’ and ‘The Maze’, and Karina completed her Advanced Open Water and spotted a giant stingray! While the divers were gone, Oliver continued working on his Basic Keelboat certification and learned all about safety regulations for boats. Everyone reconvened for lunch before dropping the ball and heading to Dead Man’s Bay on Peter Island.
On the sail, Amanda led the crew through a Man Overboard Recovery drill while Thomas was a spotter at the bow. Braeden was skipper of the day and did an excellent job anchoring once we arrived at Dead Man’s! We all swam to shore for Olympics, where we competed against the other boats in a dizzy fender race, a synchronized swimming performance, sand art with a buried captain or mate, and a tug of war. During the synchronized swimming routine, it was exciting when Mitchell was even thrown up in the air! After the final event, we swam back to boats for dinner before our night dive, during which Mia and Dylan both received their night certifications on the dive! Afterwards, we all had boat meeting and relaxed before falling asleep.
