After a squall passed over the anchorage this morning, Erin woke up extra early to go ‘Wake-and-Skating’ before breakfast with divers from other boats. She got up on the wake board and had a great run! Back on the boat, Michael and Jakub made delicious chocolate chip pancakes for the crew. After breakfast, everyone geared up and got excited for a race from Dead Man’s Bay, Peter Island, to Manchioneel Bay, Cooper Island. The crew raised our Sharkeesha flag (the stuffed shark is the boat’s mascot) in time for the race. Max was at the helm for the up anchoring as skipper of the day, before switching with Michael for the floating 5-minute start and race.
Fermi crossed the line neck-and-neck with Galilee and had a great race finishing second! Stella and Erin teamed up to work on one jib sheet for the race while Max and Anton took over the other sheet. After successfully picking up a mooring ball at Cooper Island, Aoife, Jakub and Erin competed in a cannonball contest while Stella and Maeve made a popular lunch of macaroni and cheese, bacon and broccoli. In the afternoon, divers went diving and Jakub finished his naturalist specialty! Meanwhile, Justin and Max enjoyed shore time and smoothies. Max went wake boarding and Stella and Maeve had a blast on the Gladiator tube!
We all went back to boats once the divers returned and motored to Salt Island for a last night on the water with a barbeque set up for us on the dock. After the barbeque, we took sunset showers and relaxed on the boat for one of the final nights together as the crew of Fermi.
