The Pirate’s Bight, Norman Island to Nanny Cay Marina
Today, we woke up and had a delicious breakfast of cereal, bagels and yogurts prepared by Michael and Caitlin. We put our yogurts in the freezer the previous day so we could have frozen yogurt, which was a nice cold treat for the hot morning. We cleaned the boat for our cleaning inspection later that day with the whole crew of Miss You working hard on making their boat clean and tidy. At 9:30a.m., we dropped the mooring ball with Tyler as skipper of the day, Tristan as our relay, Sydney as our spotter, and Kinsey and Carlos as our port and Starboard de-threaders. It was a smooth de-mooring and everyone was confident in their jobs!
Within 15 minutes, the main sail and jib were up and we were sailing! It was quite windy and the boat was steaming along. The crew sat up at the bow and enjoyed the breeze and occasional spray of beautiful blue water.
By 11:30a.m., we had arrived at our destination of Nanny Cay. The boat was docked with Tyler at the helm, and CJ, Michael, and Carlos on the spring, bow and stern lines. Tristan and Sydney were our roaming fenders and Caitlin spotted while Kinsey was our relay. It was a successful docking and the crew was extremely happy with their communication and teamwork!
After lunch, the Open Water divers and Fun Divers left on the Sail Caribean Divers dive boat to explore the depths of the ocean while Carlos and CJ got to explore the Nanny Cay Marina shops, get some ice-cream and hang out by the pool!
By 5p.m., all the divers had returned and everyone had a chance to have their phones back for a little and get a fresh water shower in the Marina showers. The crew was super excited about having a long, hot shower and also calling home! Later, everyone reconvened for dinner, which was spaghetti bolognese along with garlic bread, which was everybody’s favorite. After dinner, the crew were allowed to hang out on the other boats from Sail Caribbean that were also on the docks. Everyone played a few board games and socialized. It was a relaxing evening and everyone enjoyed hanging out on the boats. It was a fun-filled day packed full of activities and everyone really enjoyed the day!
