Nanny Cay to Bitter End Yacht Club

We had an early morning yesterday as Will, Tyler, Meredith, and Andrew went for a dive. While half our students were diving, the other half enjoyed some shore time. Henry and Sara enjoyed ice cream from the shops while Abbey and Addie perused the t-shirt stores. Later, the four of them headed to the beach for some volleyball with the rest of the Soxtrot students who were also not diving.

The divers got back and told us that they saw a southern stingray that was 5 feet wide! Everyone was happy after a fun morning, and Addie and Sara made us mac and cheese for lunch. Then, we got ready to dedock. Sara was our skipper of the day, so she worked with the crew to make a dedocking plan. Everyone got ready on fenders and lines, and Sara took the throttles and lead us through a silky dedocking!

The sail from Nanny to Bitter End is long, so we got some sailing tunes pumping and got cruising as fast as possible. It was a fast upwind sail, with gusts up to 35 knots. Sara got the hang of steering us really fast, and lead us through a great tack. Then, because we had so much time, Andrew, Tyler, and Abbey all took turns on the helm for a bit. We also did a knots lesson underway, and everyone learned some handy basic knots. We cruised into the North Sound and had a smooth mooring ball pickup. Then everyone hopped into the water for a soda float! Jen, our Program Director, and Ish, our Fleet Captain, drove the RIB around to our boat and tossed sodas to all the students in the water so we could all hang out and enjoy fizzy drinks!

Dinner was spaghetti bolognese, made by Meredith and Henry, and it was delicious. During dinner, we played two truths and lie, and we all had fun getting to know each other better. We were wiped out so we had a quick boat meeting, checked out some stars and went to bed.

Look forward to photos of the Foxtrot 3 and Sierra 3 fleet at the Bitter End later today!
